Food submittal websites are great for drawing traffic. You will be crushing it with these sites along with Pinterest. The only catch is that you have to have your lighting right it’s got to be in focus and your food photos must tell a story. Even if you think you have everything just right you still might get turned down. These are the bouncers at the club that won’t let you in to enjoy all the free traffic that one gets from these sites. I get huge spikes when I upload to these websites and these are the best sites to showcase your food photos too.
Food Gawker
Food Gawker is one of the best food submittal website out there. Sometimes it can be tricky to get your food submitted there because of trying to figure out what they are looking for. I tried about 10 times before I was able to get my food to be accepted in the beginning. The best way to get accepted is to study the photos that are being accepted and try to mimic what you see. I mean I felt accomplished ones I was able to figure out the formula that they are looking for. Tastespotting
Tastespotting is great and I have had good success with the site, the only issue is that I don’t see as much traffic from this site as Food Gawker. The good thing is that it is another avenue to send your food photos to. So you could send images to all the sites and hope for the best. Tasty Kitchen
Tasty Kitchen is a great site for distribution of your recipes the only thing is that it doesn’t seem clear that it directs traffic back to your site. The sumital is pretty easy to get into. I have seen some shots that are not so hot that are on the site. I have posted a couple of recipes from here but the site keeps you there and doesn’t direct back to your site. Healthy Aperture
Healthy Aperture is a great website to show off your healthy treats. The submittal process is easy and I don’t think they care what your shot looks like as long as long as your shot is in focus and that your recipe is healthy. You still won’t get the traffic that you get with Food Gawker but if your site is all health food this is best site for your niche. Finding Vegan
Finding Vegan is great for people who do vegan dishes and they will stand out in crowd using Finding Vegan. Again you won’t see the traffic like you would from Food Gawker but if your site or dish is vegan this is the best place to upload your photo.
